This is Brianna Kelly, I think she’s fantastic and a hell of a lot of fun. This was a house show we played on one of my last nights making the record in Cincinnati. Incredible night, I love those people to no end. Chad and I are in Nashville now, we recorded Brett on pedal steel last night and we’ll finish that up tonight. Then it’s vocals for the next few days, and seeing friends in between.
That’s a picture of Curt and the new kitten Isaac picked up, Moses. That night we saw someone play a house show who ended up being the frontman for Norma Jean and The Chariot. Today we went to Jungle Jim’s and I met Keri Winter on her last day here, and then we tracked tons of bass and then drums with Jacob from Pomegranates. Joey (also Pomegranates) threw down some wild piano the night before, and completely transformed a few songs.
Several years back, Sam Cowan made the music for Image of Chicago, and then I found it online and asked if I could write lyrics to it. I finally met him last week, and now he’s playing drums on the new record. Half of the drum tracks are finished. Sounding so good!
Today Chad and I arrived in Cincinnati, along with our friend Jack. This is a picture of mine and Chad’s pancakes somewhere in Pennsylvania, mine on the left and his on the right. I think the way we eat our pancakes pertains to our personalities. I think we’ll compliment each other in the making of this record.
